First Exchange Bank Directors Attend Conference

SEPTEMBER 2010- Several members of team First Exchange Bank attended the 9th annual CEO and Directors Conference sponsored by the Community Bankers of West Virginia. Attendees included Jim Boyers, Vice Chairman of the Bank’s Board of Directors, Bill Goettel, CEO, along with the following board members: Ade Neidermeyer, Jim Pitrolo, Jr. Kevin Wilfong and Bill Yoho.

Presentations were provided by banking regulators from both the FDIC and the West Virginia Division of Banking, as well as outside consultants. The conference topics included a discussion of the current economic and political landscape, along with consumer and regulatory concerns, including the significant lending changes within the banking industry.

Jim Boyers stated “Our goal is to maintain excellent customer service while working within the ever changing framework of banking regulations and this conference provided some of the critical tools required to do that.”

“The conference provided us an excellent opportunity to network with our primary banking regulators and obtain an understanding of their perspective” said Yoho.

Continual change in the lending arena and the effect on small businesses and consumers was the theme of consultant David L. Kemp who has broad experience in all areas of lending. “Borrowers will see a significant change in the lending process as the banking industry strives to balance excellent customer service with sound lending practices” said Goettel, who further indicated that “this will be especially true at community banks such as First Exchange Bank, whose primary goal is to finance the needs of Main Street USA.”
