FEBRUARY 2011-First Exchange Bank is proud to add their voice to the nearly 1,000 organizations that encouraged Americans to save during America Saves week from February 20 -27.
President and CEO Bill Goettel reported that “First Exchange Bank promotes savings everyday though services such as our student banking program.”
“We have a program which places our employees in local elementary schools while encouraging students to begin a routine of saving at an early age” Goettel said.
Kim Ice, Manager of First Exchange Bank’s Fairmont office, who helps administer the student banking program said, “savings from this program can finance some of a child’s college education. In addition studies show that even a small amount of savings significantly influences a child’s desire to attend college.”
For other customers, David Ware, Manager of Information Services at First Exchange Bank indicated that “the Bank has all the tools to allow savings to be virtually effortless through our state of the art web banking product.”
Ware reported, “Our web banking product allows customers to automatically withdraw money from their checking account and make a direct deposit into their savings account.” Ware continued, “if a customer does not use our web banking product we can easily set up an automatic savings transfer for the customer, including, transfers from another financial institution.”
Ware indicated that “most employers who offer direct deposit of payroll checks will allow employees to split their deposit into multiple accounts, enhancing the opportunity to save.”
